Today's fact (discovered via Glastonbury Festival, where the cows are at risk of harm from eating tent pegs)... farmers implant magnets into cows, to stop any metal objects they eat from doing damage (known as Hardware Disease).

Get yer cow magnets 'ere.

Knowing how much difficulty I have to get my dog to eat tablets, I can't imagine it's easy to pop a large magnet down a cow's throat.

I guess you have to slip it into the cow's mouth, then use a really strong magnet over the outside of the cow's body to route it through the cow like some sort of puzzle. If the cow buzzes or lights up, you've lost.

They're supposed to be really strong and fairly cheap, making them useful for non-bovine applications too.
