I have no snare in my headphones
My cleaner came back from holidays today, and I had plenty for her to do. I've been rather rubbish at cleaning up after myself since the finger incident, and I'm not very able to clean at the best of times, except little things one at a time.

We sat down together and cleaned the dining room. That means we went through two sets of shelves with me saying "keep!" "um, keep but I have no idea where..." and "bin". I was ruthless. We had heaving shelves when we started, including crates of car stuff, wedding memorabilia and manuals for appliances, as well as everyday stuff like dogfood.

We now have spare shelves and spare plastic crates. Blimey. This also means I can stop using the dining room table as a short-term storage facility.

I would now actually be happy to sit and dine in our dining room.

As she left, my cleaner said that we can use the crates for the contents of some of the kitchen cupboards... another time. Sounds ominous.

I'm exhausted from the little I did. My cleaner must be an angel, but a tough one.

She wouldn't accept all the money for the time she was here (it was longer than usual) so when she forced me to take the last tenner back, I gave her a bottle of wine. She accepted that as a fair deal (and it probably was).

I suppose I should put my sling on and elevate my finger for a while now. Be glad when it's healed. I have a feeling it will be a good few weeks.

You do sometimes have to be ruthless with the 'chucking out' When we moved into this flat from our old three bedroomed house, it was obvious that loads would have to go. I had to hire a skip out for most of it, and the furniture was divided into two, some for my youngest son for his flat, and others for K and me and our flat.
My children would tell you though that I can be ruthless anyway, as I hate clutter. If it isn't being used often it goes or if you are not careful it all gets on top of you.

Sounds like there's no dust on her wings anyway!
